Egypt is a cuisine power for it has a long history of food from ancient Egypt. Owing to its dry weather and lack of water, Egypt relies mostly on the river Neil to water the crops. But the annual flooding of Nile made Egypt a good farming land. After thousands of years, rice and bread remain staple foods, and molokhiyya (a spinach-like vegetable) and ful mudammas (cooked, creamy fava beans), a national dish, are nearly as popular as long ago.
